February 10th, 2014 - Berluti is a luxury footwear and accessories brand of the LVMH group (Louis Vuitton) headquartered in Paris. The new factory is being built in Gaibanella - fraction of the city of Ferrara - and will be operational from mid-2014, employing 140 people. This plant will be specialized in high-end shoes production that will be sold in the Berluti shops all around the world.

The facility has been designed in a sustainable way by the Barthelemy & Grino architects studio and will have an area of about 20,000 square meters (of which 8,000 covered) with a cost of about 11.5 million Euro, considering only building works.

As stated by the company’s president Pietro Beccari, a strong support to the investment came from Emilia-Romagna Region, Province and City Council of Ferrara and Sipro – the local development agency. Moreover, a School for footwear manufacturing - also in Gaibanella - will provide highly skilled human resources in this sector. This school has trained 80 experts so far, and 40 of them have been already hired.
