Financial Times ranks Emilia-Romagna among the top European regions 2020/21

University of Bologna14/02/2020 - FDI Intelligence, the Financial Times foreign investment specialist division, has published the "European Cities & Regions of the Future 2020/21" report on the attractiveness of cities and regions in Europe.
Emilia-Romagna ranks 10th among the Large European regions for FDI (Foreign Direct Investment) strategy.

The region is open to FDIs and offers real support to companies. The highly specialised clusters – strongly oriented towards digital transformation – collaborate with a vibrant innovation ecosystem, where skilled human resources are provided by universities and training institutes. The regional law for the “Promotion of Investments” - in accordance with the S3 Strategy - is boosting R&D investments with new centres and projects. Procedures ensure transparency and reliable time frame. Other main assets are the access to international markets (1st Italian region for export per capita/employee) and a rich local market (GDP per capita 19% higher than EU average). A new Big Data Valley boasts top supercomputers and data centres. Besides financial incentives, the regional contact point for FDI (investinemiliaromagna@art-er.it) - managed by ART-ER - is ready to facilitate and support new investments.
