The construction site of the new Drive Technology Center of SEW-Eurodrive in Borgo Panigale (Bologna) has been inaugurated on October 10, 2024. The German multinational is specialized in the design of systems for industrial, logistics and process automation (from gear motors to inverters and controls). The company has invested over 30 million euros in this new Drive Technology Center which will operate with assistance services and technological support for businesses. The opening is scheduled for 2027.
The new Center aims to be closer to customers and will provide assistance and technological support services to businesses, but it also aims to become a reference for companies, start-ups, schools and universities. It is a space with a surface area of 8,000 sqm designed to create connections and unite the excellence of one of the most important industrial areas in Italy, thanks to the strategic proximity to world leaders in production sectors from food to tobacco, from logistics to 'automotive. The Center presents itself as an innovation accelerator thanks to a dedicated Research and Development area, which will see the German headquarters directly involved. Furthermore, there will be a Drive Academy for high-profile technical training and a co-engineering area with around 70 stations dedicated to partners.
