The Interreg EU Project MAGNET study visit in Szombathely and Sárvár - held on April 28-29 - highlighted interesting good practices related to the attraction and retention of talent and investment, such as:
- Industry-integrated dual education model strengthening regional talent supply
- Multi-stakeholder strategic co-creation for talent and investment development
The study visit involved local authorities, university, laboratories, and companies, allowing interactive presentations from the various representatives of the good practices and also the display of locations, infrastructures and equipment.
The second project Thematic Peer Review – held in Sarvar - focused on the topic “Stakeholder engagement to match the needs of the companies of local strategic value chains with the investment and talent attraction”. During the session, MAGNET project partners highlighted various approaches to multi-stakeholder boards, involvement / collaboration of the ecosystem, increase training of highly skilled talents. The Motor Valley University of Emilia Romagna (MUNER) was one of the presented good practices, showing a PPP model where top companies and universities - supported by institutions - can attract talents and create skills for new investments in innovation.
Three cross-cutting topics have emerged from the good practices presented during the Thematic Peer Review:
1. University and training in collaboration with companies,
2. Career events/fairs/services,
3. Involvement of stakeholders in the elaboration of Development Programmes to attract/retain talent and investment.
An interactive session on these three topics involved all the participants - with a group for each topic – working on pros and cons to involve stakeholder and to transfer these practices to the local policy instruments.
ART-ER coordinates the exchange of experiences within the project and participates with the involvement of Invest in Emilia-Romagna and it-ER International Talents Emilia-Romagna, in close collaboration with the Municipality of Reggio Emilia (Lead Partner) and with the engagement of the Emilia-Romagna Region and local stakeholders.
