The publication of the World University Rankings 2024, released by Times Higher Education, confirms the University of Bologna as first in Italy. The ranking is based on the WUR 3.0 methodology, which includes 18 calibrated performance indicators that measure an institution’s performance across five areas: Teaching (the learning environment); Research environment (volume, income and reputation); Research quality (citation impact, research strength, research excellence and research influence); International outlook (staff, students and research); and Industry (income and patents).
The University of Bologna is the oldest in the Western world and is widespread on different territories of the Emilia-Romagna region, with campuses also in Cesena, Forlì, Ravenna and Rimini and an international campus in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
World University Rankings 2024 include 1,906 universities across 108 countries and regions.
