There are about 30 companies in the region that have a global reference shareholder (Global Ultimate Owner) based in Japan, with an aggregate turnover of 1.1 billion euros and 2.5 thousand employees (source: Aida Bureau Van Dijk, November 2022 data referring to 2021 balance-sheets).
The following investors control companies with aggregate turnover greater 15 million euros annually in the region: Toyota Industries Corporation, Mitsubishi Corporation, Amada, Sumitomo Heavy Industries, Daido Kogyo Company Limited, Rinnai Corporation, Daikin Industries, Mitsui Chemicals Inc, Nippon Steel Corporation, Mitsui & Co., Furuno Electric, Honda Motor, Tgk, SLM Nikon.
